A check, based on your race number, is performed at the entrance of the starting spaces. It is not allowed to start in an earlier wave. However, it is possible to start in a later wave without taking any further actions.
COLLECT YOUR RACE NUMBER: TENT NO. 140
- Race numbers can be picked up on Sunday 24/04 from 9:00 am at the Sport UAntwerp tent (140) which can be found in the company village at Linkeroever.
- You can find our tent by simply clicking this link.
- To pick up your race number, please bring your Student ID or Staff ID so we can check your registration.
- A T-shirt of your institution will also be given to you – if applied to your institution.
- If you ordered a T-shirt for charity, you will find a receipt in the envelope that you receive together with your starting number. With this receipt you can also pick up your T-shirt at the Sport UAntwerptent.
PLEASE COME TO OUR TENT (140) IN TIME! In the afternoon, it might get very busy while picking up your race number. Be as early as possible to avoid long lines at the Sport UAntwerptent.
YOUR SPORTS BAGS
If you bring a backpack, you can deposit this backpack at our Sport UAntwerptent. Make sure it is a tightly closed backpack. After the race you can pick your backpack up again. Sport UAntwerp is not liable for any damage or loss.
MOBILITY
Be sure to consult the ‘Slim naar Antwerpen‘ route planner (available via computer or app).
Are you coming on foot, by (shared) bike, (shared) scooter or (shared) moped?
The easiest way to get around during the 10 Miles in Antwerp is on foot, by (shared) bike, (shared) scooter or (shared) moped. It’s easy, healthy and the ideal warm-up!
Please not that you will not be able to cycle from Left Bank to the Right Bank and back. Take the pedestrian tunnel or the ferry to cross the Scheldt.
You can park your bike in several temporary bike sheds on both banks:
- Rechteroever: On Sint-Jansvliet, at the entrance of the pedestrian tunnel, or on Steenplein, at the ferry terminal
- Linkeroever: On Frederik Van Eedenplein
Are you coming by public transport?
Tram and bus
Several bus and tram lines are disrupted by the route or do not run at all. The most important pre-metro lines 3, 5 and 9 do run and will even be extended. The nearest pre-metro stops on the Left Bank are Halewijn and F. Van Eeden.
Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., it is not recommended to travel between Bus Stops F. Van Eeden and Groenplaats because the trams will be full of participant and supporters. During the race, it is not even possible to move between the two banks by tram.
Train
It is best to take the train to Antwerp Central Station. Walk about 20 minutes via the Meir to the Scheldekaaien and explore a part of the route that way. To go to the Left Bank, you can either take the pedestrian tunnel or the ferry (see “Coming by boat?”). If you want to go to the Left Bank by tram, you can take tram 9 or 15 in pre-metro station Diamant to Stop F. Van Eeden. This stop is close to the start and finish zone. Keep in mind that there will be longer waiting times due to the large crowds before the start and after the arrival of the 10 Miles.
Are you coming by boat?
From the Left Bank, you can get to the Right Bank quickly and easily using the Sint-Anna ferry. The ferry is free and leaves from Steenplein on the Right Bank and from the pontoon on the Left Bank in Thonetlaan (near the finish zone). Bicycles, scooters and mopeds are not allowed on board during the Antwerp 10 Miles. You can park them in the above mentioned bicycle sheds. More information on the Sint-Anna ferry.
The Waterbus takes you from Lillo, Liefkenshoek, Kallosluis, Zwijndrecht, Kruibeke and Hemiksem directly to Steenplein or Sint-Annastrand. Or combine the route with the Hoboken-Kruibeke and Basel-Hemiksem ferry services. A return ticket costs €5 and is for sale on board The Waterbus. More information on The Waterbus.
Are you coming by car?
Are you coming by car anyway? Bear in mind that many streets and car parks in the centre of Antwerp will be difficult or impossible to reach for motorised traffic. The Oosterweel works on the Left Bank will also cause considerable disruption. The event zone is actually located in the low emission zone in Antwerp. All the information about the low-emission zone can be found on our website.
We advise you to stay on your bank and not to drive through any of the tunnels under the Scheldt (Kennedy Tunnel, Waasland Tunnel or Liefkenshoek Tunnel)). Besides, the Kennedy Tunnel will be closed in the direction of the Netherlands from 11.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Once you are on the other side, it will be difficult to get back. The Waasland Tunnel will be closed for traffic in both directions from 9.30 a.m. to about 7 p.m.
It is best to leave your car at a Park and Ride and continue your journey by tram. Or take the (Velo) bike from the P+R and cycle into the city. Especially for the 10 Miles, another 4 P+Rs will be organised. Plan your route using the multi-modal route planner on our website or app.
- Park & Bike Beatrijslaan on the Left Bank: the start and finish zone is 4 km by bike
- Park & Bike Vogelzanglaan on the Right Bank: the pedestrian tunnel is 5 km by bike
DRESSING ROOMS
On Linkeroever, tents will be provided on the event site Charles de Costerlaan. No showers are available in the dressing rooms.
